Sometimes, you just want to eat classic American meat-and-potatoes meal. These savory steak bites are served with garlic-herb potatoes that practically melt in your mouth!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. butter, divided into tablespoons
  • 1 pound of potatoes, sliced to about 1/2 inch thick
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chopped thyme
  • 1 teaspoon chopped rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon chopped oregano
  • 20 ounces sirloin steak, cut into even sized cubes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper

Process

  1. Heat up a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the olive oil, 1 tablespoon butter, potatoes, and herbs to the pan. Cook for about 3 minutes, then stir and cook 3 more minutes. The potatoes should be fork tender. Set them aside.
  3. Season the steak cubes with the salt and pepper.
  4. Add the second tablespoon of butter to the skillet, then add the garlic. Let the garlic and butter cook for one minute, then add the steak cubes. Cook them to your desired level of doneness, checking it every minute or so.
  5. When the steak is done, serve it along with the herbed potatoes. You can serve it with a nice side salad, a red wine, or your favorite beer.
  6. Enjoy!
