Chicago Hot Dogs


Chicago is one of my favorite cities. The climate is nice, the architecture is gorgeous, and the midwestern attitude is refreshingly nice. Another perk of the city is the famous Chicago-style hot dog!

Ingredients

  • Hot dogs
  • Poppyseed hot dog buns
  • Mustard
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 tomato, cut into thin slices
  • Dill pickles, cut lengthwise into slices
  • Relish
  • Sport peppers
  • Celery salt

Process

  1. Steam-cook your hot dogs. You can place them in a steamer basket or a colander over boiling water.
  2. Assemble the dogs:
    • Place the mustard and onions in the bun
    • Put the hot dogs on top of the mustard and onions
    • Slide the pickle slices, tomato slices, and sport peppers alongside the hot dog
    • Spoon relish over the top
    • Sprinkle with celery salt
  3. Enjoy! These little guys go great with an ice-cold beer, some potato chips, french fries, or just by themselves.
